Getting started with Cadence

Sign in to Cadence, create your first project, add a layer, and share your map.

Before you start

You’ll need an active Cadence account. If you don’t have one, contact your organisation’s Cadence administrator or contact City Science.

Step 1: sign in

1. Go to cadence.cityscience.com and select Sign in.
2. Enter your email address and password.
3. Select Sign in. The Projects page opens.

Step 2: create a project

• Select Create project. A new project opens immediately.

Step 3: add a map

• Select Add map.
• Enter a map name and select Create map. The map editor opens.

Step 4: add a layer

• Select Add layer in the layers panel on the right.
• Browse or search for a dataset.
• Select a dataset to preview it, then select Add to map. The layer appears on your map.

Step 5: share your map

1. Select Share (top right of the editor).
2. Under Access, select Anyone with a link.
3. Select Copy link and share it with your stakeholders.

Note: The share link opens the Viewer — a read-only version of your project. Stakeholders can navigate the map but can’t edit anything.
