How to manage layers within a project map

To add a layer, see How to add a layer to a map.

To edit a layer

On a project map,

  • Select layer name

The layer controls will open in a sidebar.

To copy a layer

On a project map,

  • Under layers
  • Right-click on the layer you’d like to copy
  • Select Clone, and the duplicate layer will appear above the original layer

To delete a layer

On a project map,

  • Under Layers
  • Right-click on the layer you’d like to delete
  • Select Delete
  • Select Click to confirm

Once Delete is selected, Click to Confirm only appears for a short amount of time.

To sort two or more layers

The layer order is the order in which the layers are shown above the base map. To change the order, drag the layer card using the handle (four pairs of dots on the left-hand side).

To hide an layer so it is not shown in the Viewer

Layers with a Hide symbol are not published.

On a project map,

  • Under Layers
  • Right-click on the Layers you’d like to hide
  • Select Hide layer
  • A Hide symbol will appear

Although a layer is hidden, there are still ways experienced users visiting the Viewer can access the layer.
