A Camera overlay lets you visualise a camera’s location and movement on your project map using a line geometry file. You can configure the overlay’s position, animation, and path appearance to suit your needs.
Adding a Camera overlay
On a project map:
- Select Add overlay
- Select Camera, under Map tools
Configuring the Camera overlay
Once added, the Camera overlay settings panel allows you to customise the following:
Layout
| Screen position | Choose the screen position for the overlay |
| Gap to edge | Set the distance from the overlay to the browser edge |
Camera Settings
| Source, Pick a file | Select a line geometry file that you’ve uploaded to the project |
| Animation duration (seconds) | Set how long the camera animation cycle should last |
| Camera altitude (metres) | Define the camera’s altitude |
| Look ahead distance (kilometres) | Set how far ahead the camera should look |
| Path smoothing | Adjust the smoothness of the camera path |
| Show camera path | Toggle on/off to display the camera path on the map |
| Camera path colour | Select the colour for the camera path line |
| Camera path width | Set the thickness of the camera path line |
| Camera path opacity | Adjust the transparency of the path line |
